With a completed course (Class A rating), you have a good chance of working in a wind tunnel as a flight instructor in the future.

We train according to the training system of tunnelinstructor.com. There are three different ratings:

• Class A rating
  • Training objective:
    • Accompanying adventure pilots in the wind tunnel (without cab flights)
    • Spotting of low-speed maneuvers
  • Training time: 2 course weeks in the mornings with a total of 10 hours in the wind tunnel

• Class B spotter*
  • Prerequisites:
    • A completed Class A rating
    • About three months or 50 hours of practical experience (depending on continuity and personal flying experience)
  • Training objectives
    • Spotting high-speed maneuvers
  • Training time: 1-2 course weeks in the morning with a total of 3 hours in the wind tunnel

• Class A+ rating*
  • Prerequisites
    • A completed Class A rating
    • Approx. three months or 50 hours of practical experience (depending on continuity and personal flight experience)
  • Training objective
    • Completion of cab flights
  • Training time: 1-2 course weeks each morning with a total of 3 hours in the wind tunnel

All courses include theoretical and practical content:

• Moving around in the tunnel
• Handling people
• Control in the wind tunnel
• Stability exercises
• Spotting
• Operation and maintenance of the wind tunnel
• etc.

This course includes the Class A rating. You can find much more information and details in the training manual.

*The other training courses can only be offered with practical experience and are planned separately on request. The collection of practical experience at Windwerk is checked individually in each case, cannot be guaranteed in advance and depends on the needs of Windwerk.

Price
We charge CHF 680 per hour for your training time. For the Class A rating you need 10 hours (CHF 6,800).
