The year has literally flown by. We’ve just organized the Swiss Indoor Skydiving Championships and now we’re already wrapping Christmas vouchers. That’s why we’ve taken the time to look back at everything that’s happened.

A showdown of the best: Swiss Indoor Skydiving Championships

In March, the best indoor skydivers in Switzerland met at Windwerk to compete in various disciplines. It was a spectacular two days, characterized by fairness and a sensational atmosphere. The participants gave their all to demonstrate their flying skills. Numerous spectators were thrilled by the competitors’ performance and did not spare their applause. Our special guests and presenters on the stream were Charles Nguela, Adrian Fenner and Jonathan Hausherr, who accompanied the competition in the best possible way. And, of course, the after-party went on until late into the night.

“Our” Lena flies to places in Macau 8 and 12

Our instructor Lena competed in the freestyle discipline in Macau/Hong Kong. She confidently secured 8th place at the 3rd FAI European Indoor Skydiving Championships. Lena also showed a great performance at the 5th FAI World Cup of Indoor Skydiving and flew to 12th place. A remarkable performance from Lena, who was the only participant representing Switzerland. Chapeau!

Moving encounters

A special concern of ours is the “When wishes learn to fly” program, in which we invite people with disabilities or people who have suffered severe strokes of fate to visit us at Windwerk every quarter. This year, children visited us

  • of the Theramisu parent association, which is committed to maintaining children’s therapies in the region
  • of the Rafael School, a special education day school in Zurich
  • Children’s Cancer Aid Switzerland
  • the curative education school in Uster, which supports children who cannot learn as well as others and need more help
  • of the MyHandicap Foundation, which provides information, support and exchange on disabilities and chronic illnesses via the EnableMeportal.

These events are made possible thanks to Bine Hirsiger, founder of the Challenge Camps association and professional flyer. Our motto: “Anyone can fly”! Applications from suitable groups, school classes or organizations can be submitted online at any time.

“Outstanding” award: Swiss Location Award 2024

Once again this year, we were awarded the highest number of points among event locations as “Outstanding Location” in the Swiss Location Award 2024. Thanks to the great support of our customers and fans in the voting

together we have managed to receive this outstanding award.

We appreciate the great feedback and will continue to work on making your experience with us a real highlight.

Not wind but solar power on the wind turbine

We have taken a step towards sustainability: the solar system on the flat roof with 104 m² and 53 modules generates an impressive 22 kWp. Added to this is the south-facing cladding of our tower with an impressive photovoltaic surface area of 211 m², which generates a strong 44 kWp and is expected to produce 41,000 kWh per year. This is roughly equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of ten 4-person households. One small step for mankind, one giant leap for us.

We have achieved a lot this year, worked hard, but also had a lot of fun. A huge thank you to everyone involved – from visitors and followers to business partners – for your support and commitment. We would also like to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you to the entire Windwerk team. You do a great job every day with passion and enthusiasm. None of this would be possible without you!
